Assembly reviews Olympics green pledges

The London Assembly has launched what should be an important investigation into how sustainable the Olympics zone developments are proving to be.

As the Assembly points out, the London 2012 Games bid spoke of “a legacy that will set new standards for sustainable development” and it is vital that the spotlight remains on this commitment.

However, the difficulties faced by the global property industry has seen sustainability move down the list of priorities at many projects, particularly where there is an immovable deadline.

I’ll be following the results of this with interest.
