Spurs Olympic rental could solve a raft of problems …

As the dust settles and those interested in the Olympic regeneration opportunity try to piece together just what is behind the collapse of West Ham/Newham’s bid for the stadium, an interesting thought springs to mind (well was helpfully placed in my mind).

Now clearly I am not for one minute suggesting that this is true, or will ever happen, or has ever been contemplated.

But the idea surfacing that West Ham FC is now first in line to rent the Olympic stadium post Games might not be quite the certain bet suggested in some quarters.

What about Spurs? Clearly Boris wants Spurs to stay at White Hart Lane in a new, bigger stadium. What if Spurs had somewhere nice nearby with 60,000 seats to rent for a season or two while the construction is carried out? Would be quite a nice solution. Just a thought …
